    "description": "PrologueTales from the Demi-monde is a collection of short stories about the various characters who feature in the novels which make up The Wheel of the Year sequence, a series of contemporary urban fantasy novels in a similar vein to series such as The Dresden Files, The Rivers of London, and A Discovery of Witches, it depicts a world where magic and the supernatural are real but kept hidden away from the majority of the population. The setting for these stories is, on the whole, the UK, although there\u2019re occasional forays beyond its shores.I\u2019m going to be publishing one of these short stories on my website every other Wednesday, around about mid-morning, until the story is told and in the week between stories I\u2019ll also be posting something under Musings discussing some aspect of the series, again mid-morning on a Wednesday.Each of these is a stand-alone story outside of the chronology of the parent series. Apart from their entertainment value these stories serve as an introduction to many of the secondary characters who pop up from time to time in the main narrative.
